Leesburg, VA — November 10, 2025 — This November marks the beginning of the 17th anniversary year for The Organizing Mentors, a Loudoun-based professional organizing and Certified Move Management business that has helped thousands of people across Northern Virginia and the greater D.C. region reclaim their spaces and their peace of mind.
Founded in 2008 by Leesburg resident Lisa Geraci Rigoni, The Organizing Mentors has grown from a small local operation, Leave it to Lisa, into a trusted regional team known for its compassionate, practical approach to decluttering and organization. The company supports clients through every stage of life’s transitions; from growing families and busy professionals to rightsizing seniors and estate cleanouts.
“Coming out of Mental Health Awareness Month is the perfect time to reflect on how the state of our space affects the state of our mind,” said Geraci Rigoni, who is also the #1 Best Selling author of 17 Spatulas and the Man Who Fried an Egg: Reclaim Your Space Mentally and Physically. “Organization isn’t about being Instagram-perfect. It’s about finding flow in your life. What we hold onto and/or struggle to let go of, is usually about something much deeper.”
Over the past 17 years, Geraci Rigoni and her team have completed thousands of organizing projects, bringing empathy, energy, and expertise to clients facing all kinds of transitions. Whether it’s helping a widow sort through decades of memories, supporting a family navigating neurodivergence, or assisting seniors and their adult children in preparing the family home for sale, The Organizing Mentors meets each client where they are with compassion and care.
“Seventeen is my favorite number, and it keeps showing up in my life in powerful ways,” Geraci Rigoni shared. “That’s part of why I named the book 17 Spatulas, and it’s why this anniversary year feels so special.”
The Organizing Mentors trademarked The LITL™ System to guide every project:
Let It Go: What items can you let go of? Start with what you know you don’t want or need anymore. We know what we don’t want. These are the quick decisions, things you know in your gut you’re ready to get rid of, which is often the bulk of the job. Clearing this first layer away gives you the confidence and momentum you need for the harder decisions, giving you a clear view to what’s left, the items that are more important to you.
Intentional: This is the step that may stop you in your tracks – the part where psychology comes into play. This is about examining the responsibility, emotion or guilt behind why you’ve kept these things. This is the time when you ask yourself the tough questions. Why do you still own it? What does it mean to you? Is it important enough to keep and still have the life you want?
Transform: This is your moment to reflect on what you’ve accomplished. You’ve not only reclaimed your physical space, but with greater self-awareness and honesty a mental shift has happened. You’ve reclaimed your mental space as well. This changes the way you look at your situation, your space and yourself.
Love It & Live It!: What you’re left with are those items that you love and/or need. Your world is now focused and less cluttered physically and mentally. The space surrounding you will be a truer representation of who you are, and living within that space becomes uplifting and empowering. You’ll love it, and you’ll love living in it!
At its heart, serving our clients is never just about the physical “stuff.” As Geraci Rigoni puts it, “The stuff about your stuff is not about your stuff. Everybody has stuff. Either we see 'it' in our homes, or we walk around with 'it', where no one can see, not even us. What matters is how we deal with it to move forward.”
As a former professional dancer, singer, actress, and fitness business owner, Geraci Rigoni brings both physical energy and emotional intelligence to every client interaction. Her team combines compassion with practical systems, helping people find solutions that last, whether it means tackling a single closet or decluttering an entire home in preparation for end-of-life care.
In addition to working directly with individuals and families, The Organizing Mentors partners with real estate professionals, estate attorneys, care managers and therapists across the region to add value to their mutual clients.
“People call us when life feels out of control. Our job is to meet our clients right where they are at that moment,” she said. “And that is what we’ve been doing for 17 incredible years.”
As part of the anniversary celebration, The Organizing Mentors has launched the audiobook edition of 17 Spatulas and the Man Who Fried an Egg and will debut a new podcast, The Stuff About Your Stuff. Through these platforms, Geraci Rigoni continues to share practical organizing tips, mental health insights, and inspiring client stories that highlight the transformative power of reclaiming your space.
